The coin depicts a replica/ copy of the Half Shekel Silver coin that was struck during the first Jewish revolt - year 2 (67/68 A.D) . This coin was used as tribute money in the time of the second temple in Jerusalem.
Each cufflink shows a different side of the coin- one has the cup and the other has the three-stemmed pomegranate branch.
